Rob’s Books — Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Welcome to Rob’s Books. These terms explain how you may use our website, purchase our digital publications and participate in our free family reading membership.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

We provide customer support in writing. Please contact us by email or through our website contact form.
- Our digital publications
Rob’s Books sells digital books and downloadable resources only. We do not supply printed books or deliver physical products.
Our publications may include stories, non-fiction, cookbooks, puzzles, colouring pages, activity materials and family reading resources.
Each listing describes the product, its format, price and any relevant technical requirements or usage permissions. Please check these details before ordering.
Images are illustrative unless identified as previews of the actual publication. A tablet or e-reader shown in promotional material is not included in your purchase.
- Ordering and payment
Purchases must be made by an adult aged 18 or over.
Please provide accurate order and contact details and check your basket before paying.
The total price, including applicable taxes and any compulsory charges, will be displayed before you place your order. Payment is processed through the payment services offered at checkout.
Your order is accepted when we send confirmation accepting it. A payment acknowledgement alone does not constitute acceptance unless it expressly confirms acceptance.
If we cannot fulfil an order, we will explain why and refund any payment taken for the unavailable item.
If we identify an obvious pricing or description error, we will contact you before proceeding. You may choose whether to continue on the corrected basis or cancel for a refund.
- Digital delivery and access
Your purchase will be supplied electronically using the delivery method described at checkout or in your confirmation.
Please check your spam or junk folder if an expected email does not arrive. Contact us if you cannot locate or access your purchase.
You will need a compatible device, suitable software and an internet connection to obtain your files. Any known compatibility requirements, download limits or access periods will be stated before purchase.
We recommend saving a backup of downloaded purchases. We do not promise permanent online storage or unlimited replacement downloads unless the listing expressly includes them.
This does not affect our responsibility to supply your purchase as agreed or your rights if the content is faulty.
- Permission to use our publications
Unless a listing states otherwise, your purchase gives you a non-exclusive licence to use the digital publication for your own personal and household purposes.
You may:
- Read it on your own compatible devices.
- Make reasonable backup copies for personal use.
- Share reading and activities within your household.
- Print reasonable copies of printable resources for use within your household.
You may not sell, upload, publicly distribute or share the digital files or download links outside your household without permission.
You may not reproduce our publications for commercial distribution or claim their text or illustrations as your own.
Schools, nurseries, childminders, clubs and other organisations should contact us about permission for group use unless the resource expressly includes that permission.
These restrictions do not prevent uses permitted by copyright law or the exercise of statutory accessibility rights.
- Cancellation of digital purchases
For digital content supplied without a physical medium, you normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason.
If you request access during that period, we will ask for your express consent to immediate supply and your acknowledgement that you will lose your cancellation right once supply begins.
Where those requirements have been met and supply has begun, the change-of-mind cancellation right ends. We will include confirmation of your consent and acknowledgement in a form you can retain.
If the required consent or acknowledgement has not been obtained, your cancellation rights remain as provided by law.
To cancel where you have a right to do so, email us with a clear statement that you wish to cancel, together with enough information to identify your order. You may use the cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
Where a cancellation refund is due, we will make it within 14 days of being informed of your decision, using your original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee.
Downloading content does not remove your rights concerning faulty or incorrectly described digital content.
- Faulty content and download problems
Paid digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose agreed with us and as described.
Please contact us if a file is corrupted, incomplete, incorrect or does not work in accordance with the stated requirements.
Include your order reference, a description of the problem and relevant device or software details. Never send passwords or full payment-card information.
Where required by law, we will provide repair or replacement within a reasonable time, without charge and without significant inconvenience.
If repair or replacement is impossible or is not provided as legally required, you may be entitled to a price reduction, which can be up to the full price.
You may also have rights if digital content damages your device or other digital content because we failed to use reasonable care and skill.
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy provides further information. If there is any inconsistency, your statutory rights take priority.
- Free family reading membership
Our free family reading membership provides access to the resources described on the membership page.
There is no membership fee, no automatic paid renewal and no requirement to buy products from our shop.
The family reading membership is advertising-free. Our separate public shop continues to offer paid digital publications.
Membership accounts must be registered and managed by an adult aged 18 or over. Children participate through their parent, carer or another responsible adult.
Email verification may be required before access is activated.
Suggested ages help families choose resources. They are not assessments, fixed ability levels or deadlines for a child’s development.
Content will be added as described on the membership page. We do not promise a particular release schedule or quantity unless expressly stated.
- Adult participation and children’s activities
Our family resources are intended to support shared reading, creativity and enjoyable interaction.
Adults should choose activities appropriate to the individual child and supervise where needed, particularly when printing, cutting, drawing, moving or using household materials.
For babies and young children, digital resources can be read by the adult and used to support interaction away from the screen.
Our resources are not a diagnostic service or a substitute for individual educational, medical or therapeutic advice. We do not guarantee reading ages, developmental milestones or particular learning outcomes.
Children can participate through looking, gestures, movement, speech, signing or their established communication methods. Families are welcome to adapt activities to their needs.
- Account security and acceptable use
Please keep your login details secure and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
You must not use our website to distribute unlawful material, interfere with its operation, access other people’s accounts or redistribute restricted downloads.
We may restrict an account where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks or a material breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Any restriction will be proportionate and will not remove your statutory rights concerning purchases.
- Ending membership and changes to the service
You may end your free membership at any time by contacting us or using an account closure facility where available.
You can unsubscribe from optional marketing messages without ending your membership. Necessary account and service messages are handled separately.
We may update, replace or withdraw free resources, or discontinue the free membership. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where practicable, except where urgent legal or security action is needed.
Closing your membership does not remove your personal-use permission for resources you lawfully downloaded, unless the resource clearly stated a different access arrangement.
Requests to delete personal information will be handled under our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
- Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain and protect personal information. Our Cookie Policy explains our use of cookies and similar technologies.
Please do not submit unnecessary information about children, including their photographs, full dates of birth, diagnoses or identifying details.
Creating an account or accepting these terms does not by itself constitute consent to optional marketing. Marketing preferences are managed separately.
- Copyright and third-party material
Website text, publications, illustrations and other materials belong to Rob’s Books or their respective rights holders.
Buying or downloading a publication does not transfer copyright.
Links to external organisations are provided for convenience. A reference or link does not imply that the organisation endorses Rob’s Books or is our partner.
- Website availability and responsibility
We take reasonable care in operating our website and supplying digital content. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical faults or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where an interruption affects a purchase, we will take reasonable steps to resolve it and provide any remedy required by law.
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
- Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to our services or legal requirements.
The terms agreed when you purchase will continue to apply to that purchase unless a lawful change is agreed with you.
For continuing free membership, we will give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable. You may end your membership if you do not wish to continue.
- Complaints and disputes
Please send complaints in writing to the email address above, including your order or account reference where relevant.
We will investigate and aim to resolve the matter fairly. If we cannot resolve a consumer complaint, we will provide information about alternative dispute resolution where legally required, including whether we are obliged or willing to participate.
Nothing in these terms prevents you from seeking independent advice or using your legal remedies.
- Applicable law
These terms are subject to the law of [insert the appropriate UK jurisdiction for the business].
This does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in their home courts where applicable.
